Information
- Year 7 pupils start Priory on Monday 6 th September 2010 – 10:00a.m. Pupils from other years will return on Tuesday 7 th September 2010 -8:40 a.m.
- School Uniform – black trousers or skirt for girls, white polo shirt, sweatshirt/buttoned cardigan with school logo, sensible footwear. P.E. Boys; red top, black shorts, red sports socks. Girls; navy blue skirt/shorts, light blue polo shirt, white socks. Tracksuits can be worn in the winter months.
- Pupils are expected to have a bag and the appropriate equipment for school e.g. pen, pencil, ruler, eraser etc.
- All pupils in Year 7 will be provided with a planner. Please check and sign this on a weekly basis.
Times of the school day are as follows:
- 8:40 – 8:55 Registration
- 8:55 – 9:55 Period 1
- 9:55 – 10:10 Break
- 10:10 – 11:10 Period 2
- 11:10 – 12:10 Period 3
- 12:10 – 12:50 Lunch
- 12:50 – 1:50 Period 4
- 1:50 – 2:50 Period 5
- A number of activities take place at lunchtime and after school.
- Unless parental permission is provided all pupils are to stay on the school site at lunchtime. The canteen offers a range of meals (hot and cold). Year 7 and 8 share a large supervised social space – this is open break and lunchtime
- We expect your child to attend regularly and to arrive on time. Absences should be covered by a telephone call/note. If there are issues regarding these then contact the school as soon as possible.
- Holidays will not be authorised unless there are exceptional circumstances. All holidays are to be applied for on the official Local Authority form.
- If your child has any regular medication then this should be left with Pupil Reception – consent will be requested to allow staff to dispense medication.
- First Aid – there are a number of staff trained in First Aid – A member of staff will make contact if your child has received first aid in school.
- Your child will be issued with a username and password for ICT, it is there responsibility to keep these secure. All pupils will complete the ICT contract for acceptable use.
- Buddies (pupils from Year 10) are allocated to each Year 7 form group. These pupils are there to support your child if they are having any problems in school.
- Need to contact us? Mrs Martin (Year Group Learning Leader), Miss Cooper (Pastoral Link Tutor) and your child’s form tutor are the first points of contact. Priory also has a strong mentor team who support pupils in a number of ways. These can also be contacted in school.
- Shafton ALC – there are regular merger activities involving Priory and Willowgarth pupils in preparation for the opening on September 2011.
